Refund policy

United States Orders

We have a 7-day return policy for orders shipped within the United States, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return.
For orders placed between November 15 and December 31, the return window is extended through January 10 of the following year.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it: unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. A digital order confirmation or other proof of purchase is sufficient.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable, as these services are paid directly to the carrier and are not recoverable.

If your return is accepted and the original return request was made within 7 days of delivery confirmation (or by Jan 10 for holiday orders), then Electron Shepherd will provide a prepaid return label and return instructions.

If the return is accepted and the original return request was made outside of 7 days since delivery confirmation, then the customer is responsible for return shipping.

Returns for reasons other than defect or error (e.g. change of mind) are subject to a restocking fee of $5.00 USD or 10% product cost. whichever is greater.

If a package is returned to sender due to an incorrect address, refusal to pay duties, or failure to retrieve the package, the original shipping charge will not be refunded.

International Orders

We accept returns for international orders, but customers are responsible for all return shipping costs and any associated customs or import fees. Unfortunately, Electron Shepherd is unable to create return shipping labels with international post offices/courier services.

To be eligible for a return, the item must be unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. A digital receipt or order confirmation is required.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable, as these services are paid directly to the carrier and are not recoverable.

Customers are responsible for:

Generating and purchasing the return shipping label.
Prepaying any customs or import fees. If unpaid and Electron Shepherd is billed, that amount will be deducted from your refund.

United Kingdom & European Union – 14-Day Cooling-Off Period (Right of Withdrawal)

If your order ships to the EU or UK, you may cancel for any reason within 14 days of receiving it — contact shane@electron-shepherd.com or use your Customer Account.
You then have 14 days to send the goods back; return shipping is at your cost. We refund the full price including standard outbound shipping within 14 days of receiving the return (or proof of postage), to your original payment method.
You may inspect the goods as you would in a shop; we may reduce the refund for diminished value caused by handling beyond that (for example, soldering or installation). No restocking fee applies to EU/UK cancellations.

Damages & Issues

Please inspect your order upon delivery. Contact us immediately if your item is defective, damaged, or incorrect so we can resolve the issue quickly.

If your item is faulty, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered, none of the above conditions or fees apply: we will provide a prepaid return label (or reimburse return postage for international orders) and repair, replace, or fully refund the item, including all shipping. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights, including the EU two-year legal guarantee of conformity, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 (including the 30-day right to reject), the Australian Consumer Law, and the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.

Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

These exceptions apply to change-of-mind returns for US and international orders; they do not limit the EU/UK 14-day cancellation right or your statutory rights for faulty goods.

Certain items cannot be returned, including:

ElectronAVE Kit or ElectronAnalog, once soldered or modified.
Sale items, gift cards, and checkout tips.

Exchanges

To exchange an item, please return it first. Once the return is accepted, place a new order for the replacement item.

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll notify you of approval status.
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. For EU and UK cancellations, the 14-day statutory timeline described above applies.

Please allow extra time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund.
If more than 15 business days have passed since approval, contact us at shane@electron-shepherd.com. We’ll help track the issue.

Recycling your old electronics (UK)

When you buy a replacement item from us, you may return your old, equivalent electronic item to us for recycling free of charge (like-for-like take-back under the UK WEEE Regulations).
Contact support@electron-shepherd.com to arrange it before sending anything - we will reimburse reasonable UK return postage for the old item. This service is for recycling only; it is not a product return and does not affect our refund policy. Electronic waste must never go in household bins (see the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on our products).
