Audio Input: Analog or SPDIF Audio
Video Output: HDMI

This tiny, power-packed module takes in a VGA or Component signal (depending on the version) and outputs an HDMI signal with an embedded analog or SPDIF audio front-end for use in your smallest of projects.  This design is a higher quality, smaller, and more efficient version of the widely available analog-to-digital modules that are available online.  If you are not happy with those modules, then you will absolutely be happy with these.

The VGA-input mode can accept any resolution from VGA to UXGA and does not provide any internal scaling of the image. The Component-input mode can accept any resolution video signal up to 1080p60 and does not provide any internal scaling of the image.

This board can take in either SPDIF or analog audio. The SPDIF audio format can be Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound and it is embedded over the video output for use with any surround sound system connected to your TV.

This device typically consumes <300mA in all use cases; however, you should test this design in your system before designing a specific regulator.

  • Supports 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p25/30/50/60, 1080i50/60, 1080p24/25/30/50/60.
  • Supports RGB graphics from VGA to UXGA

Please be aware that these boards contain components that are sensitive to ESD strikes.  Be sure to handle these using proper ESD handling techniques.

Latency

We used a Time Sleuth to measure the latency that this module adds during its analog-to-digital conversion.

All measurements were done with a 7" Loncevon HDMI monitor with the Time Sleuth output resolution set to 1080p @ 60Hz.

Question

Does this HDMI mod not only works on the Sega Dreamcast and PS2 and PS1 and Xbox does it work on a Sega Saturn and/or Sega 32X?

PS2 Phat GH-026

Installed this in a PS2 Phat model - be aware that many of the AV pinout images you'll find online are for the slim with the pin numbers flipped since the phat AV output is mounted on the other side of the mainboard. Also at first I was getting no signal but then realized my display doesn't support 480i. Hooked it up to another TV and the output is super clean even at native resolution. Way better than the LevelHike adapter I was using.

Fantastic and Amazing

I seen this on a Youtube video and ordered it right away. Communication was absolutely amazing and extremely helpful. When the product arrived, it was well packaged and the instructions were very easy to read and understand. After about ten minutes I had it installed into my PS2 and everything just worked. Now I am looking to see what other consoles I can upgrade to the current HDMI standard. Thank you again for this amazing product.

Very nice product

I added the ElectronAnalog to a PS2 slim and the image quality is actually pretty nice. The hardest part of the installation was cutting the case and somehow fitting and securing the HDMI board properly. In the end I succeeded and I can absolutely recommend the product! Thanks and greetings from Germany!
