Supply Voltage: 5V from USB-C
Video Input:  Component (YPbPr)
Audio Input: Analog Audio
Video Output: HDMI
Compatibility: NTSC and PAL (all resolutions are supported!)
Latency: ***SEE BELOW!***

This tiny, power-packed module takes in the native Component video and analog audio output from the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3 and outputs a crisp HDMI video stream. This module utilizes a fully custom PCB with a higher quality, next generation IC compared to what is typically used on the widely available, low quality analog-to-digital modules that are readily available online. The low quality construction of those other modules often leads to video and audio with interference that inhibits enjoyable gameplay. If you are not happy with those modules, then you will absolutely be happy with these.
Note: The ElectronPulse requires an external 5V power supply to be provided via the USB Type-C connector next to the HDMI port on the module. This can come from the USB ports on the front of your PS2 (if they exist on your model) or from an external power supply such as a phone charger or similar.

You need to set the video output mode to "Component Video Out" with "Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr" selected:
These modules do not provide any video scaling, so the output resolution is equal to the input resolution received.  Some TVs/displays do not accept 240p and 480i resolutions from an HDMI input.

These modules are not compatible with the Playstation 1 but they are compatible with Playstation 1 games when played on the other consoles. Some TVs/displays are not compatible with Playstation 1 games. Please read the "Resolution Switching" section on RetroRGB here: https://www.retrorgb.com/playstation1.html.

Lag/Latency Information

The core technology at the heart of the ElectronPulse does not introduce any lag or latency in the output image. That means that the provided input analog video is quickly converted into the same resolution output video via HDMI™.

However, it is important to note that some TVs and displays are unable to properly process low resolution 480i HDMI™ video without introducing some noticeable lag on the output.  If that occurs with your display, then it is recommended to utilize a high quality, low latency HDMI™ scaler on the output of the ElectronPulse to scale the 480i video to a higher resolution prior to being received by your display.

These scalers include the following (non-affiliate links) in order from most-to-least capable:

Amazing, I was previously using company cables into an OSSC but this has immediately surpassed and simplified that setup.

The best PS2 HDMI converter on the market. Seriously look no place else. This is a must have for modern tv’s and retro gamers.

Fantastic converter

This is a great little HDMI converter and in my experience one of the best for the PS2. My GF bought this for me as an upgrade from a different converter (can't remember the name of it now) that I have which worked but didn't have as clean or consistent of an output as the Pulse.

One note I want to add: If you use this converter and you're not getting any video out, try changing the settings to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr using different cables then switch to the ElectronPulse. The system will not display anything if video output is set to RGB, unlike some other HDMI converters that will just be discolored if set to the wrong output (ex: my old converter wanted it set to RGB and would make everything green when set to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr). I have more information about that below if you'd like to read:

Recently the power supply in my PS2 died on me, and when I replaced it the PS2 was turning on but I wasn't getting any video out. Naturally, I took everything apart to see if there was any other damage I missed but everything was fine internally. I tried plugging in composite cables as well as the old HDMI converter I have and I got video out using those, but not from the Pulse. I thought it might've died around the same time as the PSU, maybe a power surge took both of them out but that didn't make a ton of sense to me as all the other consoles I had plugged into the same surge protector are still running fine. I was about to order another ElectronPulse when I saw the bit above about setting the video output to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr, so for the lols I changed the setting with one of the older cables, switched to the Pulse and it worked again! My guess is the system "forgot" the settings as the clock also reset (I probably should replace the battery haha).
