This tiny, power-packed module takes in the native Component video and analog audio output from the Nintendo Wii and outputs a crisp HDMI™ video stream. This module utilizes a fully custom PCB with a higher quality, next generation IC compared to what is typically used on the widely available, low quality analog-to-digital modules that are readily available online. The low quality construction of those other modules often leads to video and audio with interference that inhibits enjoyable gameplay. If you are not happy with those modules, then you will absolutely be happy with these.

Features

These modules are not compatible with the Wii Mini. These are only intended for use with the normal Wii.

This module efficiently supports all of the resolutions that are default to the Wii:

NTSC Consoles:

  • 480i, 480p, 240p (via VC/Homebrew)

PAL Consoles:

  • 576i, 480i, 480p, 240p*/288p* (via VC/Homebrew)

* 240p and 288p are unofficial modes used by select Virtual Console titles and homebrew software.

Must have for Wii retro gaming.

No longer do I need to use my analog cable anymore. This is made in the US and not one of those Chinese copy cats that you find on Amazon. Works fine with my HDMI and remember to adjust your tv picture in the menu. The construction of this adapter does feel flimsy like the HDMI input/output wants to slide out if you push hard enough.

PERFECT. Plug and play!

I was rocking the Portholic adapter from Amazon for a couple years, but I often saw wavy lines in the signal and I wondered about lag. The ElectronWarp works perfectly - this picture is clear, the sounds seems more vibrant than the Portholic, and I don't have to worry about lag because of the science behind the device. This is the one to get!

Disappointed with the Electron Warp Shepherd – Mayflash Outperforms It

Unfortunately, the Electron Warp Shepherd just wasn’t for me. Right out of the box, the device either came defective or simply didn’t perform well. The display output was noticeably darker compared to other adapters I’ve used, and no amount of troubleshooting made a difference.

In contrast, the Mayflash—despite being much more affordable—has worked reliably and given me a far better experience overall. It’s disappointing when a more expensive product underdelivers like this.

I also reached out to customer support via email to see if the issue could be resolved, but I haven’t received any response. That lack of communication really sealed the deal for me.

Based on my experience, I can’t recommend the Electron Warp Shepherd. I’d suggest looking elsewhere—especially at more budget-friendly alternatives like the Mayflash.

Hi Louie - I just saw your two emails from mid-day on Saturday and responded to them now (Tuesday). As meantioned in the response to your original email that I just sent moments ago, my apologies for the delay in getting back to you as I've hospitalized since Saturday and was just released this afternoon and am now getting back into things.

The lighting difference that you're experiencing is actually a major complaint of customers across the board for the Mayflash and cheap converters do not have their white and black-levels set properly and as such the whites can be very bright and blown out causing a loss of image clarity on particularly bright screens. The HDMI video stream from the ElectronWarp is also set to be full range color which, if the displays are not properly set to handle that color mode can result in an overly dark image. This can also come down to personal preference as well, so there's a subjective element there too.

Considering that I do not typically work on weekends when you're two initial emails were sent and that this review was sent 6.5 hours into the first business day of the week, I'm sorry I was not able to respond quickly enough and that that sealed the deal for you. I'm sorry you have had such a negative experience with my product, I hope you are able to find the product and support that better suits your needs elsewhere.

I'm happy to process a refund for your order according to the refund policy page on my website as soon as I've received a return from the shipping label I sent your way.

ElectronWarp

This was so worth the money for it, the image quality is amazing, and virtually no issues whatsoever, easy to set up too. Amazing job.

The Best

Hands down the best VGA to HDMI converter out there, also so convenient it plugs straight into the Wii directly, feels like my Wii just has a HDMI port now! Love it! Shipping was super fast too!

Not as good as the cheaper alternative

I have the cheap wii hdmi adapter that does a better job of converting the signal. This one makes the image dark. It works and does what it supposed to but I can't recommend this when someone can get a similar product for half the cost.
